From numerous researches carried out over recent years the paradox today for authority is that as it let’s go of power (via the exercise leadership) so it becomes in many respects more effective. It has been found that, and indeed common sense should tell us, as authority begins to share power and share it responsibly, people in general will themselves become more responsible and more committed to what needs to be done so as to ensure the goals of the enterprise, indeed of society itself.
Generally you will find in the more equable setting people tend to be happier with how things are done and therefore more committed to what needs to be achieved in order to ensure a successful result. In short, the overall aim of exercising leadership is to create an environment of shared responsibility for getting results that are of benefit to the enterprise and its people.
